Supporting women navigating abuse, coercion, and intimate partner violence.

Because no woman should feel trapped simply because she cannot see her options

WHO WE ARE

Karama Foundation is a survivor-informed initiative supporting women affected by coercive control, intimate partner violence, emotional abuse, psychological manipulation, and other forms of relational harm.

We provide education, practical guidance, and pathways to support so that women can recognise harm, understand their options, and make informed decisions about their safety, wellbeing, and rebuilding.

We believe that change begins when you can see all your options.

Nearly 1 in 3 women globally experience physical or sexual violence, most often within intimate partner relationships.

Our Vision

We envision a world where women can live free from coercion, abuse, and violence, with safety, dignity, autonomy, and informed choice.

A world where no woman feels trapped simply because she cannot see her options.

A world where support pathways are visible, informed decisions are accessible, and every woman has access to the knowledge, support, and recourse needed to move toward safety, healing, and rebuilding.

What We Believe

We believe every life carries equal value and dignity, inspired by the principles of the Mande Charter.

We believe:

  1. women deserve access to support, recourse, and visible pathways before, during, and after harm

  2. harm can happen in the places and with the people women should feel safest with, and the burden of shame does not belong to the person harmed

  3. seeking support is a sign of strength, not failure

  4. knowing your options is often the first step toward safety, clarity, and change

  5. collective care, informed support, and access to knowledge create pathways toward healing, rebuilding, and the opportunity to thrive

Our Mission

Karama Foundation exists to ensure that women experiencing abuse, coercion, or relational harm are not left to navigate it alone.

We work to increase awareness of coercion, abuse, consent, and relationship safety while connecting women to information, support, and pathways that enable informed decisions, greater safety, and long-term recovery.

We do this through education, collective care, practical support, safety planning, and public awareness initiatives.

Public Education:

Karama Foundation advances public understanding of consent, coercion, relationship safety, emotional abuse, and intimate partner violence.

Through education, dialogue, workshops, and speaking engagements, we foster greater awareness, encourage prevention, and contribute to safer, healthier relationships and communities.

Four Stages of Awareness, Safety, Transition, and Rebuilding

At Karama Foundation, we recognise that every woman's journey is different. Whether questioning a relationship, navigating harm, exploring options, planning a transition, or rebuilding after crisis, women deserve access to information, support, and informed pathways at every stage.

Women move through these stages differently.

Karama Foundation helps women recognise harm, understand their options, access support and recourse, and navigate pathways toward safety, healing, and rebuilding
